Eating and Drinking
Woodstock has a well equipped kitchen and two part time Cooks, Amie and Emma, who prepare all our lunches and teas. On a hygiene note, we have achieved the highest rating of 5 from the Local Authority’s Environmental Health Department, as shown by the certificate on the window by the front door.
The day starts with Breakfast served until 8am, with cereals and toast / fruit loaf / pancakes / croissants / ham / cheese / fruit / yoghurt with milk or water to drink.
There are two Snacks a day, morning and afternoon. These will include a choice of fruits and vegetables, plus a breadstick, cracker and cheese, rice cake, pitta bread and humus, pancake or something similar. Milk or water will be offered to drink.
The Lunches and Teas are taken from our 5 week Menu Plan. Each week’s menu will provide a wide variety of flavours and textures, providing the correct nutritional requirements for young children. (Occasionally it is necessary to change a meal at short notice.) Water is offered to drink at both meals.
Babies will be weaned in close consultation with their parent/s with the aim of offering the same meal as their older peers, either liquidised, mashed or chopped, according to their individual development.
As long as your baby requires a Formula Milk we will provide the same milk at nursery.
Alternative diets will be provided for if needed through an allergy or for religious/personal preferences, i.e. Dairy Free, Gluten Free, Vegetarian, no Pork or pork products.
